My keynote talks and creativity workshops use storytelling, reflection, and simple creative exercises to help participants, particularly women, explore their multiple identities, build confidence, and create a sense of belonging.

As an Emmy-nominated documentary filmmaker, co-founder of PowerHouse San Jose and a Creative Ambassador for the City of San José, I work with companies and community organizations to create meaningful, transformative experiences that empower women (and their allies) on a deep level.

Let’s connect and make some magic happen!

Keynote #1

Our Stories Connect Us: How Sharing Your Story Sparks Change and Builds Community

Personal storytelling is more than self-expression—it’s a bridge to healing, understanding, and community building. This keynote explores the transformative power of storytelling and creative expression through the lens of an Emmy-nominated filmmaker and seasoned educator.

Through a blend of personal anecdotes, practical insights, and a sprinkle of pop culture, attendees will learn how creative expression—whether through filmmaking, writing, photography or any art form—can improve mental health.

Get ready to laugh, reflect, and walk away with actionable steps and a CREATIVITY TOOLKIT designed to guide attendees through turning their lived experiences into stories that create change.

Keynote #2

Mothering Through the Storm: The Power of Connection and Showing Up No Matter What

Motherhood never follows a straight path—but when your child struggles with mental illness during a global pandemic, it can feel like navigating stormy seas without a map…while your boat is sinking…and folks who’ve never gone sailing before are shouting advice from the safety of the sun-warmed beach.

As an adoptive mama whose children have faced mental illness, adoption trauma, and a global pandemic that interrupted their teen years, I learned how to practice radical acceptance - letting go of what I cannot control - while still loving them fiercely. In this keynote talk, I explore how to build mental resilience and show up for our families and ourselves - no matter what.

This keynote is a message of hope, strength, and unwavering love for any parent, caregiver, or advocate who has ever felt lost in the storm. You will walk away with tools to navigate life’s hardest moments and a roadmap for reclaiming joy.

A list titled 'Key Audience Takeaways' with five points, each marked by a star icon. The points cover mental resilience, connection, community, and reclaiming joy, emphasizing practical strategies, vulnerability, support systems, and prioritizing mental wellness.
